Libraries are helping baby boomers find love. D’awww.

When I was the program coordinator at both a small library and a larger library system, I had the idea of hosting a program to help older adults navigate the online dating world. I drafted up some proposals, everything from a presentation to a speed-dating session, but unfortunately these never came to fruition. I chickened out, because I couldn’t find anyone to do the program, and I felt that I was unqualified to do the program myself.

Seeing that other librarians out there had the same ideas is vindicating. And it makes me exceedingly happy that they didn’t chicken out the way I did and actually found success with these programs. Now, I find myself with the desire to revisit the idea at my current library and give it another shot. I’m so glad I found this article on Next Avenue!
