Hi all! Last week sure was a busy one. I was in New Orleans to speak at the second (and first in-person) LibLearnX. My presentation was about Comic Conventions As Professional Development and Outreach Opportunities and was attended by roughly 25 people. Not to mention the layout of the “ShopTalks” at LLX is very interesting, where you’re on a small, open studio right on the exhibit floor, so many people stopped to listen as they walked by. Overall, a big success!
It turns out the Big Easy is one of my favorite cities. The French Quarter is to die for. I visited fabulous, but grounded, bars, ate some delicious food, including at a Vampire Cafe, saw the Chewbaccus Parade, and did a walking Voodoo Tour. I even made some new friends! I hope someday I can return just for fun instead of a conference, since I didn’t even scratch the surface of the city.
Oh, I also bought a fedora. So, I’m one of those now.
